Equivalent dynamic models of active distribution networks with grid following and grid forming converters

Abstract

Grid forming converters emulating inertia are a crucial part of a stable renewable power system. Considering them in complexity-reduced equivalent distribution networks allows for comprehensive stability studies of future power systems. This work addresses this research gap by providing a validated methodology to create equivalent dynamic active distribution networks including grid forming converters.
