Abstract
A mathematical model is suggested for the growth of fungal mycelium in the homogeneous periodical culture. Based on the model equations, the economic coefficient is calculated which in the given case is not a constant. Besides, the maximal value of the biomass concentration which is possible at the preset initial concentration of the substrate is found. The data are also obtained for the substrate concentration corresponding to the maximal biomass concentration and to the time at which the maximal value of the biomass concentration is reached. The model assumptions permit its application for any homogeneous periodical cell cultures.
