    A calculation method is presented for the conditions of cavitation onset for different irreguIaritis of a concrete surface which are due either to constructive features of individual spilIway elements and construction methods defects or to washing out of a binder and partititial aggregate exposal. The critical cavitation parameter is equal to the sum of the coefficients of pressuere reduction induced by a number of factors: turbulance of a run up flow, flow disturbances caused by a given irregularity. Dismemberment of the critical cavitation parameter into a series of components taking into account individual factors allowed to theoretically and experjmentally analyse the influence of some of the factors on cavitation inception. In certain of the most simple cases s theoretical calculation of values of critical cavitation parameters proved to be possible. Reference tables and simple relations are given for calculating cavitation occurring on the irreguarities frequently found on a concrete surface.
