Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung der Usability einer auf dem (E)DCC-Ansatz basierenden Grafendatenbank und Implementierung von zugehörigen Verwaltungs- und Analysetools

Abstract

Diese Arbeit beschreibt die Entwicklung von Datenbanktools, für die am Institut für Eisen-bahn und Verkehrswesen der Universität Stuttgart entwickelte, Datenbankverwaltungs- und Analysesoftware PULTrack. Diese Funktionen sind zum einen Weiterentwicklungen und Verbesserungen bestehender Funktionen und zum anderen neue Datenbanktools. Die Wei-terentwicklungen beziehen sich auf Tools zur Verwaltung der, mit PULTrack verknüpften Datenbank sowie zur Dursuchung und Visualisierung des Inhaltes dieser Datenbank. Die Evaluation einiger Weiterentwicklungen erfolgt im Rahmen einer Usability Fallstudie. Neue Tools wurden für die Übersetzungs- Protokoll- und Projektverwaltung sowie für die Erstellung von Planungsinformationen entwickelt. Methodisch wird ein agiler, nutzerorientierter Prozess zugrunde gelegt. Für jedes Tool werden zunächst die Anforderungen erhoben, in die, falls vorhanden auch eine Ist-Zustandsanalyse mit einfließt, gefolgt von einer Skizzierung der geplanten Funktionen und anschließenden iterativen Implementierung dieser Funktionen. Abschließend werden einige Optimierungsvorschläge und mögliche Weiterentwicklungen für PULTrack erläutert.

This thesis describes the development of database tools for the database management and analysis software PULTrack developed at the Institute of Railway and Transportation at the university of Stuttgart. These functions are on one hand enhancements and improvements of existing functions and on the other hand new database tools. The further developments refer to tools for the administration of the database linked to PULTrack as well as for searching and visualizing the contents of this database. The evaluation of some enhancements is done in the context of a usability case study. New tools were developed for translation, protocol and project management as well as for the creation of planning information. Methodological-ly, an agile, user-oriented process is used as a basis. For each tool, first the requirements are collected, which, if available, also includes an analysis of the current status, followed by a sketch of the planned functions and subsequent iterative implementation of these functions. Finally, some suggestions for optimization and possible further developments for PULTrack are explained.
