Title: Analytical and experimental study of Eggers' relationship between transverse wave profiles and wave resistance of a modified ogive in a channel
Issue Date: 1965 Buch
URI: Diss., University of Iowa, 1965
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine Eggers' analysis, the assumptions upon which it is based, and its restrictions, both analytically and experimentally under nearly-ideal conditions. A slender, two-dimensional ogival strut, which has a narrow viscous wake and no bilge vortices, is investigated. Eggers' method is applied, using the transverse surface profiles behind the body, obtained both from linearized potential theory and from experiments.
