Entwurf und Bewertung von Verfahren zur Verkehrslenkung in WDM-Netzen

Abstract

Es werden Verfahren zur Wegesuche und Ressourcen-Belegung in Netzen mit WDM-Technik (WDM: Wavelength Division Multiplex, Wellenlängenmultiplex) entworfen und bewertet. WDM networks are a key element of telecommunication networks. While today these networks still consist of static point-to-point connections, in future dynamic reconfigurable networks will be realised using optical cross-connects. For WDM networks that handle dynamic traffic, efficient routing mechanisms are essentially required. Main targets of this thesis are: to present a structured method for describing the great variety of possible routing mechanisms for WDM networks, to develop efficient routing strategies and prove their performance with a quantitative evaluation, and to perform a systematic investigation of the large number of parameters influencing the routing performance.
