Abstract: Reports of investigations on the effects of applied cAMP in higher plants are contradictory. Degradation of cAMP is catalyzed by homogenates from various plant species. However, it has not been convincingly demonstrated that exogenous cAMP penetrates the tissues and enters the cells.
